What is Orbit Card?

Orbit card is a NCMC enabled prepaid card, which can be used for all kind of payment purposes, like If you are travelling my metro just tap and pay with Orbit card, if you are travelling by any public transportation you can do the payment with Orbit card by tapping on AFC(Automated Fare collection) machine or POS machines, you can even do online shopping, fuel payment, toll payments, retail shopping, parking fees, and fuel payments.

What is a prepaid card?

Prepaid card, is a kind of plastic card, where the customers have to upload the balance/Add the amount in order to use the card.

What is NCMC?

NCMC stand for National Common Mobility Card is interoperable transit card, launched by government of India. It comes under "One Card One Nation" initiative of government, where the goal is to streamline the payment processes in public transport and retail transactions.

What is the difference between Metro Card Vs Orbit Card

Metro Cards

• Metro cards are can be used in a particular city's metro system and can only be used for travelling on that specific metro network
• Metro cards are "Closed-loop" cards, means it can only be used for metro travel and services related to that like, parking
• You can Top up metro card only at metro stations 

Orbit Card

• Orbit card is a "Open-loop" card, meaning apart from metro stations, it can be used for other payments like buses, toll payments, parking lots, online shopping and even for retail purchases.
• Orbit card can be recharged online through orbit wallet mobile app.
• For Offline payments, Orbit card uses NFC technology for fast offline payments.

FASTags: 

FASTags uses RFID(radio frequency identification) technology, these are in the forms of sticker which are affixed on vehicle windscreens. When a vehicle passes through the toll plazas, toll charges are automatically deducted without the need for the vehicle to stop at the toll plaza.

Orbit Sticker is a kind of Payment Tag that sticks on the back of your phone, which make the transactions fast, smooth and secure. It is the Fastest way to make the payment, the transactions happens in less than 480 milliseconds. It works the same way like orbit card just be different is it is a tag, so the fear of losing/stolen/damaged card is no more there.
